An Open Letter to Trump Supporters: Wake Up Before It’s Too Late.

Dear Fellow Americans,

I’m not writing to be polite. I’m writing because our country is on fire, and Donald Trump is holding the match.

You may cheer when he “owns the libs” or crushes his enemies online, but let’s be brutally honest: these are not the moves of a president. They are the moves of a dictator in training. And if you keep supporting him, you are not saving America — you are helping bury it.

Trump’s Authoritarian Playbook

• He’s seizing control of police and military. Trump federalized D.C.’s police and flooded the streets with National Guard troops, despite record-low crime. That’s not “law and order.” That’s a trial run for martial law.
• He’s staging military parades. Dictators love pageantry — Mussolini did it, Putin does it. Now Trump demands tanks and troops to glorify himself.
• He’s gutting oversight. Watchdogs, inspectors general, regulators — fired and replaced with loyalists. Accountability replaced with obedience.
• He’s weaponizing the Justice Department. Instead of serving citizens, Trump created a DOJ unit to intimidate his political enemies. Today it’s Christie or ABC. Tomorrow it could be you.
• He’s threatening free speech. He called for ABC and NBC to lose their licenses for reporting critically. That’s not democracy. That’s censorship.
• He’s dismantling independent institutions. From the Federal Reserve to scientific agencies, anyone who tells the truth is purged.
• He’s already telling you the quiet part out loud. Trump mused that “maybe Americans would like a dictator.” He’s daring you to accept it.

If You Think This Won’t Affect You, Think Again

Once a leader consolidates power, nobody is safe. Today it’s journalists and Democrats. Tomorrow it could be your church, your union, your job, or your family.

History warns us: dictators never stop at their enemies. They eventually turn on everyone.

This Is Not About Politics Anymore

This is not about left vs. right. This is freedom vs. authoritarianism. Democracy vs. dictatorship.

You can hate Democrats and despise “the establishment.” But excusing Trump’s behavior means giving him permission to destroy the Constitution that protects you. Once that’s gone, there is no getting it back.

The Question You Must Answer

When your children and grandchildren ask: “What did you do when Trump dismantled our democracy?”
Will you say you cheered him on? Or that you had the courage to stand up before it was too late?

Trump isn’t saving America. He’s strangling it. And if you still support him, you’re helping tighten the rope.
